So after a slight false start Apple Watch OS2 is now alive. The Runtastic application I use has just had a significant boost to its capabilities thanks to the new features in OS2. Health data may now be queried by applications directly from the watch……meaning Runtastic can now record your heart rate while running. All that is needed is that you start and end the session from your watch.
It’s a little scary graphing your heart rate while you are under physical stress from running but once you have done it a few times and realise you are not dying it’s quite ok !
Below is the graph that Runtastic produces, pretty impressive really. What i should really do is not stop quite straight away and see how quickly my heart rate gets back to normal.
The only problem i’m having with it is that ending the workout somehow seems to take around a minute of faffing about, hopefully runtastic fix that rather quickly !
